ABOUT ABOUT
So you want to build an iPhone or iPad app. No problem. You may already know one or more of these languages: JavaScript, Java, C#, Ruby, Python or any number of other languages. So how different can Objective-C be? This is exactly what I thought. But Objective-C has its own idiosyncrasies and once you learn them building iOS apps is pretty straight forward (for the most part).

Would you rather spend two weeks working through issues you don't understand or listen to me talk for two hours and learn from my wasted hours?

Who am I? I'm the founder of FeedbackTrail, a Philly startup building mobile platforms. I have 20+ years of experience delivering Web, mobile, middleware, and thick client solutions.

We will cover the basics of Objective-c, how Objective-c compares to Java, the gotchas so you don't have to find them yourself, and we will build a simple iPhone app.

This is a lecture class but you are welcome to bring an OS X laptop if you want to follow along with the slides. Previous working knowledge of an Object Oriented programming language (i.e. Java) is strongly recommended.
